During these unprecedented times, safety remains our top priority and we have been following Governor Herbert’s mandate to take bold, aggressive steps to slow the spread of disease. Our project team is working hard to maintain a heightened awareness and proper social distancing methods while still moving forward with construction activities. Schedules and milestones are now tentative and subject to change. It is currently anticipated that limited work scope will begin in early May 2020. ​

As part of its efforts to keep traffic moving on Bangerter Highway now and into the future, UDOT will build a freeway-style interchange at 12600 South. This is a continuation of UDOT’s multi-year effort to upgrade Bangerter Highway and the east-west arterial roads in order to meet the traffic demands of western Salt Lake County. Project work is scheduled to begin as early as May 2020. Property acquisitions, home demolitions and preliminary utility work will be ongoing through the start of construction.

Following Governor Herbert’s directive to limit large gatherings of people, the Mar.17 Meet the Contractor Open House was postponed. Once gatherings are permissible, UDOT will notify stakeholders when a new date has been selected.
