STORM DRAIN WORK

Crews are currently working on the storm drain and pond on the southwest side of Bangerter Highway at 13400 South. This work includes daytime and nighttime activities. Increased night noise will continue throughout the project.

Vehicles are not allowed to park along Innovation Drive on the southwest side of Bangerter Highway as it a construction site entrance.

TRAFFIC SHIFT

The merge lane from eastbound 13400 South to southbound Bangerter Highway has been modified to one lane. This traffic shift will allow additional room for crews to work on the Rose Creek Canal. For the safety of both the traveling public and the construction crews, please use caution in the work zone by reducing your speed, following all traffic control and signage, and being aware of construction workers.

MOUNTAIN VIEW CORRIDOR STORAGE SITE

As part of the Bangerter project, crews will use the empty space on Mountain View Corridor (MVC) between 12600 South and 13400 South as a storage site. Activities at this site could include material hauling and storage, recycled concrete crushing operations, machinery storage and other construction needs as necessary. This storage site will be in place for the duration of the Bangerter project, which is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2025.

Bangerter Highway and MVC are coordinating on utilizing the empty spaces along MVC to reduce the expensive and long hauling distances to landfills. This demonstrates UDOT’s commitment to one of its core values, to be fiscally responsible. UDOT sees recycling of concrete, which for this project will be reused on Bangerter Highway, as an innovative transportation solution. Recycling of concrete also contributes to UDOT’s efforts to reduce construction waste in landfills and importing materials from gravel pits.

Nearby residents can expect increased noise, dust, vibration and construction vehicles entering and exiting the site. Due to night noise restrictions, most activities will only be conducted during the day.

PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE REMOVAL

Crews have permanently removed the pedestrian bridges at 13400 South and 2700 West.
Please enjoy this timelapse showing what went into this work!

Visit the 2700 West website to see the timelapse video for that  intersection.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK

Work on the Bangerter South project has begun. During construction, drivers should expect lane shifts and traffic delays. Temporary lane closures during the day and at night are possible as crews complete various construction activities. Please note that even though you might not see workers actively working on the roadway, the traffic control devices are in place for a reason, including the safety of both drivers and crew members.

What to Expect:

  • Increased noise, dust and vibration

  • Overhead lighting for nighttime activities

  • Temporary lane closures

  • Trucks entering and exiting the work zone

  • Traffic shifts throughout the project area

  • Reduced speed limit in the work zone

  • Traffic delays, so please plan additional travel time
